Omega Underground has learned that Netflix is seemingly planning on filming their mature series The Witcher in Europe, based on the fantasy novels and video games. Specifically, new information suggests they plan to shoot the 8-episode series in Budapest, Hungary. Although, other European locales could be added.
It’s not terribly shocking as Dwayne Johnson’s Hercules, Van Helsing, Season of The Witch. and Netflix’s own Marco Polo have previously shot in Hungary.
They are currently crewing up for the series and casting is well underway.
Let’s see if they’re able to wrangle Henry Cavill, who recently suggested in an interest in the show.
Production and release dates have yet to be revealed.
