New ‘Ghost In The Shell’ Footage Confirms Movie Will Take Action Scenes From Original Film

New footage from Rupert Sander’s Ghost In The Shell reveals the film will indeed be taking more influence from the original 1995 anime film, the footage is from an action sequence taken directly from the film.

To say this looks like like the original anime come to life is an understatement.

Directed by Rupert Sanders the film’s cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Michael Pitt, Takeshi Kitano, Pilou Asbaek, Chin Han, Rila Fukushima, Kaori Momoi, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, Tawanda Manyimo, Tricky, Danusia Samal, Juliette Bincohe, Michael Wincott, Joseph Naufahu, Chris Obi, Peter Ferdinado, Xavier Horan, and Ander Ng.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Ghost In The Shell is set for release on March 31st, 2017.
