Newcomer Winston Duke To Play Villain Man-Ape In ‘Black Panther’

Sep 29, 2016

Variety reports that newcomer Winston Duke (Person of Interest) has joined the cast of Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther as villain M’Baku.

432045-manapeM’Baku aka Man-Ape is yet another reoccurring villain T’Challa faces in the comics alongside Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Killmonger.

M’Baku is a worshipper of the sacred White Gorilla who was exiled from Wakanda because of his actions in leading the cult and betraying The Black Panther. A sacred ritual gives him apelike strength, agility and stamina, earning him the name Man-Ape.

It’ll be interesting if they do, as rumored, attempt to introduce a great number of Panther‘s rogues in the solo film. There are more villains to come if that rumored character list that leaked months back is on the money.

Production is expected to begin in the new year with Black Panther‘s release date set for February 16th, 2018.
