Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter we have our first new casting addition to the cast for James Gunn’s Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2. Canadian actress Pom Klementieff best known to western audiences for role in Spike Lee’s Old Boy has joined the sequel in a mystery role, yet to be identified. The role was said to need an Asian actress to fill it, which might be a clue to what it might be.

Although, it’s slightly assumed that she could be playing fellow Guardian Mantis, who just happens to be Vietnamese. She first appeared in the pages of Avengers comics, making her a prime candidate to be included in the sequel.

Other options could include Drax’s daughter Moondragon there is also Quasar and Kree warrior/Nova Corpsman Ko-Rel. Along with villains from Thanos’ Black Order and the Skull Queen Veranke. Plenty of female of characters to go around in the cosmic universe, and James Gunn has been good when it comes to including a good amount of female roles.

Production will begin in early 2016, with it’s release date set for May 2017.
