It’s been a while since readers got a new issue of this hit BOOM! series. If you fell behind, BOOM! has churned out the trades for the prior 24 issues (six per trade). Last issue marked the arrival of another legacy fiction character, who readers spend more time with in Once & Future #25. (No spoilers for this issue, but if you’re behind, check back here once you’ve caught up.)

Dan Mora has come up with a ton of awesome designs this series. Truly one of the best in the business right now. It’s almost unfair to pair him with Tamra Bonvillain. Evers panel is visually stunning.

But I think the design for Once & Future’s Robin Hood might be my favorite thing from this series yet. He’s a combination of Green Arrow and a Gondorian ranger, with a sprinkling of Kraven the Hunter. And his look seems to be a reflection of his personality. Mora and Kieron Gillen’s Robin Hood is fierce but hard to read. We’re also ignoring his absurd bunch of Merry Men. My word.

Once & Future #25 is a great return to the action. Readers get to check in with all the major players and get an idea of some of the problems on the horizon. But it’s not too much at once after the long pause.
