Overview
OpenAI is offering $1m to ten awardees to develop and test democratic ways of making decisions about AI system rules, as part of the startup’s efforts to design a regulatory framework for generative AI. OpenAI is asking participants for their vision of a pipeline for how generative AI tools should perform based on feedback and votes from the public. OpenAI has proposed an international group to issue regulations similar to the International Atomic Energy Agency. Applications for the grant are open until 24 June, with the recipients to be decided by October 20.
