Paramount has brought filmmaker Ron Howard onboard to direct ‘The Shrinking of Treehorn.’ Through the Imagine Entertainment banner and animation studio Animal Logic (‘Happy Feet,’ ‘The Lego Movie’), Howard will be making his animation debut.
Howard recently came on to direct ‘Solo,’ the latest installment in the Star Wars franchise. He also helmed the pilot of the National Geographic anthology series ‘Genius.’ This year, he had his ‘Pavarotti’ documentary, and is currently filming Netflix’s ‘Hillbilly Elegy.’ He also has a ‘Willow’ continuation series in the works for the Disney+ streaming service.
Moreover, the premise of the book, of the same name, is below:
“A young man begins shrinking in size after playing a strange board game, which goes largely unnoticed by his parents. The visual language of the film will closely follow Gorey’s aesthetic.”
Further, the screenplay is from Rob Lieber (‘Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day,’ ‘Peter Rabbit’).
There is currently no release date as of now.
