Phoenix Comic-Con 2017: Jason David Frank and Kevin Conroy Panels

May 27, 2017

Next, we attended the Kevin Conroy fan panel. Kevin Conroy came out on stage and did his signature Batman voiced he voiced for over 20 years in both animation and video games. The actor then went on to talk about his time at Julliard in New York as a stage actor before getting the Batman gig that changed his life forever. He was thanked by many fans for his service to the Dark Knight legacy as being the definitive Batman. However, the voice actor was humble enough to admit Micheal Keaton was a great Batman back in 1989 before his time. He also loved Christian Bale’s performance as Bruce Wayne but not so much his take on Batman. Lastly, praising Ben Affleck for finally finding the perfect balance between Bruce Wayne and Batman in the DCEU.

The actor actually went on to reveal that in his time in New York he learned that Batman creators Bob Kane & Bill Finger would attend Poe Park in the Bronx for inspiration. And while walking around the park they came up with the idea of Batman. Poe Park happens to be where poet Edgar Allan Poe wrote his famous The Raven poem. Which in turn influenced the creation of The Batman. Lastly, the actor revealed he loves the direction FOX’s Gotham has taken in the past season with the Bruce Wayne character. And that is it for Day 1 of Phoenix Comic-Con…
