Pierre Morel’s Female Action Flick ‘Peppermint’ Shoots This Fall In LA

Aug 12, 2017

French director Pierre Morel is best known for sparking-off the Taken franchise and his last film The Gunman was a cool little action flick.

He’s now tackling Peppermint a female led action film which sounds like a Kill Bill and John Wick hybrid. Deadline reports that Jennifer Garner is in talks to take the lead role.

The high-action revenge thriller premise has been likened to John Wick, with a female protagonist. When her husband and daughter are gunned down in a drive-by, the heroine wakes up from a coma and spends years learning to become a lethal killing machine. On the 10th anniversary of her family’s death, she targets everyone she holds responsible, the gang that committed the act, the lawyers that got them off, and the corrupt cops that enabled the murderous incidents.

Jennifer Garner hasn’t made an action film since Peter Berg’s flop The Kingdom which released ten years ago.

Peppermint is eyeing a fall production start which will take place in Los Angeles, California along with other various locations in California.

The state has been attracting multiple studio projects like Bumblebee, Captain Marvel, and possibly Scarface (if Universal ever finds a director) due to new tax incentives.
