Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 4,’ the sequel in the now 20-year-old animated franchise, now has four veteran actors joining the cast.
So, without further ado, here they are:
- Mel Brooks (‘Young Frankenstein,’ ‘Blazing Saddles’) as Melephant Brooks
- Carol Burnett (‘The Carol Burnett Show,’ ‘The Secret World of Arrietty’) as Chairol Burnett
- Betty White (‘The Golden Girls,’ ‘Ponyo’) as Bitey White
- Carl Reiner (‘Ocean’s Eleven,’ ‘House’) as Carl Reineroceros
The four join returning actors Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Joan Cusack, John Ratzenberger (to name a few). The newcomers include Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, and Ally Maki.
Moreover, the premise of the film is below:
“Woody (Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world. His priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But, Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy. So, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. Then, Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, and Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.”
Further, Josh Cooley is making his feature film directorial debut on the film. He was writer and director of the Pixar short ‘Riley’s First Date’ and co-writer of Pete Docter’s ‘Inside Out.’ The screenplay is from Stephany Folsom (‘Thor: Ragnarok,’ ‘Star Wars Resistance’) and Andrew Stanton (‘Finding Nemo,’ ‘WALL·E’).
Disney will release the film on June 21st.
