TheWrap reports that Sony’s Bloodshot is adding Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four, Kong: Skull Island, Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, RockNRolla) as a villain named Axe.
Kebbell played the main villain Koba in Dawn of The Planet of The Apes which seems to be in his wheelhouse.
The site also reaffirms our assumption that they are aiming for an R-rating, audition tapes Omega Underground posted were full of cussing and the comic lends itself a more graphic tone.
Filming is expected to begin next month in Prague and Cape Town.
Sony has yet to reveal a release date but taking the vacated July 26th, 2019 spot which Terminator and Hobbs had previously before moving to different dates.
