Yesterday, Lionsgate shuffled some release dates around on their upcoming young adult property’s. They announced that The Divergent Series: Ascendant has moved to June 7th, 2017. With Saban’s Power Rangers moving from a miserable January 2017 release to a much more favorable March 24th, 2017 in place of Divergent.
This should actually come as a relief to classic Power Rangers fans. March has been a great release month for young adult films like Hunger Games and The Divergent Series. Means Lionsgate has some actual faith in the project which may lead to a trilogy. Or 2-part final film because all young adult films like to do that. This also makes the final Divergent film a summer blockbuster.
