I had an opportunity to interview Heathcliff Hatcher – Razer’s Director of Global Product Marketing. Our time was focused on the new 14″ Razer Blade laptop that is designed to be the ultimate portable gaming device for gamers. The Razer Blade features a 1600 x 900 display with 8GB of DDR 3 RAM and the new 4th Generation Core i7 from Intel. The video card is a GeForce GTX 765M that runs fairly cool with 2GB of GDDR 5 RAM.
I recently wrote a hands-on review of a more traditional gaming laptop: the Lenovo Ideapad Y510P. During this interview you’ll hear Mr. Hatcher draw a clear line of distinction between the Razer and it’s competitors, such as the Y510P. I have used the big-brother of the Razer Blade – the 17″ Razer Blade Pro. It offers much of the same styling and gaming focus without the ultra portability. I hope to go hands-on soon with the 14″ Razer Blade and will write up a full review with images and video at that time.
