A reboot of The Crow is something I’ve wanted for a very long time; ever since I saw the original back in the day it instantly became one of my favorite films. So you can imagine the excitement I felt when rumors started surfacing of a reboot actually being in the works!

I started scouring the internet and looking for any possible information I could find about it; cast, director, producer, even a small glimmer of hope for a release date. Sadly for the longest time it was just rumor, there was little to no information to solidify any of the stuff that was circulating around the net. That all changed when news broke of that Luke Evans would be starring as Eric Draven…but that doesn’t appear to be the case anymore. As he stated in an interview with Den of Geek (http://www.denofgeek.us/movies/the-crow/241844/luke-evans-may-be-dropping-out-of-the-crow-too) Evans said The Crow was “not progressing for him.”

So with that news dropping, I decided to give my thoughts on a few of the actors I wouldn’t mind seeing dawn the iconic black and white face paint and take Luke’s place!

JohnnyDepp

Johnny Depp – Being that Johnny has played so many “darker” characters in his career, I would love to see him take this part on and give it his own little spin. He already sort of has the look and wouldn’t really have to change much. It would be nice to see him take on a more serious and darker roll, in my opinion. He’s relying too heavily on comedic roles lately, not that I’m saying that’s a bad thing, he’s just such a phenomenal actor. I’d like to see him change it up and I feel this could be a good way to do so.

NormanReedus

Norman Reedus – This one is a no brainer, due to the insane popularity of The Walking Dead, Norman is literally more popular than ever right now. Getting him to take on the role of Eric Draven would almost certainly create major buzz for this film. He’s already got the gritty look and attitude of The Crow, so he feels like a good fit.

JaredLeto

Jared Leto – Now when it comes to Jared Leto, the only reason I’m really including him here is because of the fact he was recently announced as The Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. The Joker and The Crow share quite a few similarities in my opinion, so in theory, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to switch over to The Crow. I’m not going to say wholeheartedly he’s a good fit for the role until I see him as The Joker. It will be interesting to see how well he can adapt to a comic book character role.

So there you have it, those are my picks for the actors I wouldn’t mind seeing in The Crow reboot. Do you agree? Or do you have somebody else you feel would fit the role better? Sound off in the comments below.
