Robert De Niro Eyed For Role In ‘Joker’ Origin Movie

Today, our friends over at That Hashtag Show released a slew of character breakdown’s for the upcoming Todd Phillip’s Joker origin movie starring Joaquin Phoenix. This film will be set outside the DC Extended Universe made famous by Wonder Woman and the Justice League. In their breakdown for the character of Murray Franklin the studio is looking for a Caucasian male between (65-75). The report indicates the studio wants acting legend Robert De Niro for the role. However, he has yet to be given any offer. De Niro has collaborated often with producer Martin Scorsese on a number of films including Taxi Driver, Goodfellas and Casino.

The film is expected to begin production this September in New York City as we previously reported. It was also revealed that War Dog’s cinematographer Lawrence Sher will reunite with director Todd Phillip’s on this upcoming DC “Elseworld” film.
