Robert Downey Jr open to another Iron Man film

Apr 27, 2016

During the Civil War preview that aired on last nights ABC’S Nightline, Robert Downey mentioned he would beĀ interest in staring in another standalone Iron Man film. On the subject, Downey stated, “I feel like I could do one more.”

Coming from someone who lists the first Iron Man as one of my top 5 MCU films, I wouldn’t mind if they went either way. A part of me believes the recent announcement of Downey joining Spider-Man, will open doors for Mr. Stark to be better utilized by making appearances in other character films instead of getting another standalone feature. Then on the other side of that, I would love for Stark to face off against the real Mandarin or even Fing Fang Foom . I’d also love Jon Favreau to return to the directors chair for this film. Either way, I’m just glad Downey is interested in sticking around the MCU, as he is a true representation of Stark and one of my favorite actors. It’s not a surprise that he expressed some interested either, with Civil War expected to $200 million on opening weekend and is currently ranked 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, I think Civil War will be a true game changer not just for comic book films but action films in general.

What are your thoughts on Downey expressing interest to do a fourth Iron Man film? Who would you like him to face of against if it becomes a done deal? Let us know in the comments below.
