Ron Perlman Wants To Join Fellow ‘Blade’ Alum Ryan Reynolds In ‘Deadpool 2’ As Cable

May 19, 2016

Ron Perlman has put his name forward as a potential candidate for the role of Nathan Summers aka Cable, which is expected to be secondary lead character in both Deadpool 2 and the still in development phase X-Force.

He posted the following on his Facebook page, which to us suggests he might actually want to be considered for the part.

There is a connection of sorts between Ron Perlman and Ryan Reynolds, they both did Blade sequels and there’s even a joke made by TJ Miller’s Weasel in Deadpool referring to Perlman’s film Blade 2 when commenting on Ajax and Angel’s outfits.

Perlman is no stranger to either comedic, action or even comic book roles, as he played Hellboy and was linked recently as the choice actor to play Swamp Thing in Warner Bros’ Justice League Dark.

The character actor’s other credits include Hellboy, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, DriveSons of Anarchy, Pacific Rim, Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them, Alien: Resurrection, Enemy At The Gates, Conan: The Barbarian and the bootleg Marvel short Punisher: Dirty Laundry.

To say his credits put him above and beyond the other suggested candidates is an understatement, as having someone like Perlman might make for better pop culture references and might make an exellent wing-man Ryan’s Wade Wilson.

Deadpool 2 is currently being written but doesn’t have an official production start or release dates slated.
