RUMOR: Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor, Ron Perlman, and Monica Bellucci Linked For ‘Justice League Dark’ Roles

Nov 17, 2015

A new casting rumor via Latino Review suggests that Warner Bros. is indeed moving forward on Justice League Dark without Guillermo del Toro, and Mad Max‘s George Miller who had been approached to direct. Siting that the height of anticipation for Suicide Squad, is making them a bit more confident with Guillermo del Toro’s script and are indeed looking to move into production soon.

They are also revealing that Colin Farrell (True Detective, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them) and Ewan McGregor (The ImpossibleSon of A Gun, Star Wars) are being eyed for John Constantine, with the one who doesn’t land the role potentially playing Jason Blood aka Etrigan. Monica Bellucci (Spectre, Matrix Reloaded, Dracula) is wanted for the role of Madame Xanadu. Also, del Toro had wanted Hellboy himself Ron Perlman to play Swamp Thing, and apparently this could still happen.

There is also speculation that Cara Delevingne‘s Enchantress from Suicide Squad could also be apart of the film, further linking it to the great DC Comics Cinematic Universe.

It’s interesting the studio would be casting a project without a director, but who knowns they might actually have someone attached. I’m more interested in projects like Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Justice League Dark, than I am for Batman v Superman, Man of Steel 2, or Justice League. So, at least Warner Bros. knows audiences are looking for something a bit more unique to come from the DCCU lineup.
