Recently, it was revealed by HeroicHollywood that the Birds of Prey movie is eying a January production start and we can now confirm this reporting.
There have also been some character teases with talk that the Harley Quinn film would see the introduction Batgirl before her solo film and Variety hinted to the possibly of even the Penguin as a villain (likely setting him up for Matt Reeves’ Batman film).
Well, Omega Underground has learned that Gotham heroine The Huntress is now expected to be in the film alongside Harley and Barbara.
This makes sense since she’s part of the team but we haven’t been able to confirm her. It would be her first cinematic appearance giving filmmakers a blank slate when it comes to casting along with character expectations.
TheWrap recently debunked unsupported online chatter that French actress Lea Seydoux was being eyed for the role of Black Canary or Catwoman, going as far as to say Catwoman won’t be in the film. We’ve also heard Catwoman won’t be in the film (who can tell if a cameo will be added at some point).
Birds of Prey will be directed by Cathy Yan and is currently without a release date but we assume should be out by 2020.
