RUMOR: Inglourious Basterd Brad Pitt In The Mix For Cable Role In ‘Deadpool 2’?

Mar 22, 2017

Rumors concerning Domino casting have died down after the confirmation that Atlanta’s Zazie Beetz is playing the mutant mercenary in Deadpool 2. Next up is Nathan Summers aka Cable, who is expected to become a major franchise player in the next wave of films, including X-Force.

One name that has been thrown out has been Stranger Things’ David Harbour, another name might have been revealed via Tracking Board’s Jeff Sneider. He dropped a potential tease that Fight Club and Inglourious Basterds actor Brad Pitt could be in the mix for the role.

Keep in mind, Jeff is only tweeting this and not writing about it. This tends to lean into the realm of rumor.

Pitt has dabbled in comedy and action, so it’s not entirely shocking his name has come up. He’s the right age and his star power could help launch Cable solo movies if Fox pursued them. The actor could make for an excellent straight-man to Wade, but also being able to roll with the punches with his own brand of humor as well.

One of the hold backs could be that it’s expected the Cable actor would have to sign-on for at least four movies including X-Force and Deadpool 3. Paramount is desperately attempting to get David Fincher to direct the delayed World War Z sequel, while that is being dealt with Pitt might have an opening in his schedule. Talk is that the casting will be officially announced soon.

Deadpool 2 begins shooting this June in Vancouver with an expected release date sometime in 2018.
