Silver Sable, the mercenary anti-hero and sometime cohort of Spider-Man might be getting her own spinoff according to Meet The Movie Press.
They state a rumor that accomplished British playwright and screenwriter Abi Morgan is said to be developing the script. Morgan’s credits include Shame, The Iron Lady, The River and The Suffragette.
A while back before Sony agreed to make a Spider-Man co-production with Marvel Studios, the studio had been trying to develop a couple female driven spinoffs including talk of a team-up film and an Aunt May movie. Another one of them being a possible Black Cat spinoff with Westworld writer Lisa Joy Nolan tackling the script. They were seemingly was axed when the studio decided to reboot Spidey for a second time.
Daredevil‘s Drew Goddard had also been attached to write and direct a Sinister Six movie, along with a Venom movie with a script from the Deadpool writers. It was recently reported that Sony had put the Venom project back into development.
