For months it had been rumored that Jena Malone‘s role in Batman v Superman would be a cinematic take on Carrie Kelley‘s Robin from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. Latino Review is suggesting that her role just might be someone else entirely, that being Barbara Gordon.
I actually speculated this theory back in October, when the character of Nightwing was cut from the film. It seemed that it was possible that Gordon could take over for Dick Grayson, giving filmmakers an excuse to combine Carrie Kelley’s Robin and Barbra Gordon’s Batgirl/Oracle.
A character like Gordon could be big enough to crossover to something like Snyder’s Justice League or Ben Affleck’s The Batman. We’re kind of hoping that Wonder Woman isn’t the only female member of the lineup, and Gordon would make a great addition.
A piece of concept art that artist Jock revealed on his Instagram account months back for a Warner Bros. project, looked like a smoking-gun but was quickly dismissed by many. Even though, Jock has done plenty of concept work for studio projects.
