Today, Collider has dropped yet another exclusive story regarding the future of the DCEU. According to their sources, Warner Brothers is looking at Kingsman: The Secret Service and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn to direct the Man of Steel sequel. This is something WB has stressed extensively that a true Superman sequel will eventually be added to their film slate. The site goes on to stress that there have only been a few conversations between the studio and Vaughn and deal has been made. Vaughn was in-line to direct another Mark Miller adaptation in Superior (An adult version of Shazam! ) but if he would take this job it would certainly take him off the list for that project.
This also comes off the news that producer Charles Roven revealed that Zack Snyder will indeed be returning to direct Justice League Part 2. Which again would keep him from doing Man of Steel 2. Last year we had heard that the studio might be looking at the Mad Max director George Miller to direct Man of Steel 2. Since he was once in line to direct Justice League Mortal way back in 2007 before that whole production fell through weeks before filming.
Man of Steel 2 has no set release date
