You may have seen our article about Dreamlords Digital’s upcoming video game Graywalkers: Purgatory, but what you may not know is that Graywalkers will also be taking the form in a comic book series to run alongside the game! The comic is still very much in its early stages but so far the story so far is this:

“The world of Graywalkers is a bleak and dark place. The majority of the world is either a total wasteland, ruins, or under the control of some supernatural entity or group such as demons, vampires, zombies, ghosts, and others. Most it is dotted by many locations where Heaven or Hell had merged with specific locations on earth. The world’s population has been reduced to about 1%, and many of those remain slaves or prisoners in various parts of the world. Only Purgatory remains a free and relatively habitable area compared to the rest of the world.” – Dreamlords Digital

With the post-apocalyptic craze happening in both comics, TV/movies and video games recently, this game will be a welcome addition for fans of the genre. Purgatory is the name of a city that had survived the Rupture that’s located in the Bermuda Triangle. Apparently, the Bermuda Triangle has always been the place where Heaven and Hell are merged in our world, so when the Rupture occurs some parts of the world are magically displaced and appear within the Bermuda Triangle to form a new land mass. Well the people who happened to have been on these lands survived and the story will be taking place 20 years after the Rupture, with this colony of survivors who have been thriving in the aftermath.

The Triangle can protect the survivors for only so long though, because now the demons, zombies, vampires and other nightmarish creatures have discovered the location of Purgatory and aim to finish wiping out humankind. Not if the Graywalkers have anything to say about it. The Graywalkers are “hidden” humans who have always been exceptional in their own way, and Fate has deemed them worthy of the power to save the human race. So now new Graywalkers are rising up to help turn the tide in the war against evil.

I haven’t gotten to see a whole lot of interior artwork for the comic, but the page I have seen shows clearly that the artists working on this comic are incredibly talented. If the artwork for the comics is anything like the artwork that Dreamlords Digital has released for the video game, then I’d expect to get a real feast for the eyes. The quality of the art and attention to detail is fantastic, and when you put that together with an intriguing story like this, you’re sure to have a great comic.

Dreamlords Digital is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to help launch both the Graywalkers: Purgatory video game and the comic book. If you are a fan of turn-based RPG or even table top gaming, and the usually fantastic stories that follow, you won’t want to miss out on helping these guys out. They’ve currently met over 50% of their goal and have 18 more days to go, so please help these guys out, because I want to see this comic become reality!
