Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming series ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,’ which follows the life of a teenage witch who has to protect her family and friends from supernatural forces. You can watch the trailer below.
This will obviously be a much darker version of Sabrina that is more in line with her recent comic books rather than the older ones that the original tv show was based on. With much more of a horror movie tone, this gives off an ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ vibe to me.
Originally planned as a ‘Riverdale’ spinoff, the show moved over to Netflix after they gave it a two-season commitment, which the CW was unwilling to do. There is still talk a crossover could happen somewhere down the line though, so don’t give up hope yet!
‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ stars Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina, Jaz Sinclair as Rosalind Walker, and Michelle Gomez as Madam Satan. It will premiere on Netflix on October 28 of this year.
