SDCC16: Marvel TV Drops ‘The Defenders’ Teaser; Hints At Shadowland and Chaste-Hand War

Jul 22, 2016

The Defenders is hasn’t started production, but Marvel Television decided on dropping the first teaser for it during their Netflix panel during Comic-Con tonight.

The brief teaser includes a voice over from Stick and gives the impression the looming threat is known to him, possibly The Hand. As we’ve been hearing rumblings for months that series could be a version of Shadowland (Elektra likely in Matt’s role as villainous leader of the hand) including the Chaste-Hand War.

I think it’s safe to say that Scott Glenn’s Stick is returning for The Defenders.

It also looks like we’ll be getting a fourth member on the team, as the letters for “Defend” seem to be coming from the titles of Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and an unknown series, unless the N is from Jessica Jones.

It could be Punisher as we know that’s coming soon, but since they’re facing an undead army it wouldn’t hurt to maybe add folks like Blade or even Moon Knight.

The series is expected to include Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones and Scott Glenn.

A release date hasn’t been announced at this time, but fall 2017 might be a safe bet.
