According to our friends at HN Entertainment, it seems there’s an updates on the long-gestating sequel ‘Sherlock Holmes 3.’ The film may have the setting of San Francisco, California in the Old West era.

Also, Geek Vibes News reports that filming could begin January 2020.

Meanwhile, both Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law will be reprising their roles, as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson respectfully.

The screenplay is from Chris Brancato, the creator of ‘Narcos’ and ‘Narcos: Mexico,’ as well as a writer on NBC’s ‘Hannibal. However, there is no director set as of now. Which is to say, Guy Ritchie, the director of the previous two films, has not signed on yet.

Recently, the film got a push back of a year. It will now compete against Sony’s ‘Hotel Transylvania 4.’ James Cameron’s ‘Avatar 3’ is also releasing five days before.

Warner Bros. will now release the film on December 21, 2021.
