Shudder has teamed up with the production company, Shaftesbury, to make a new installment of the series, “Slasher,” with eight, brand new episodes. This series will be called, “Slasher: Flesh & Blood,” and will be available on Shudder US, Shudder Australia, and Shudder New Zealand in 2021. Following the premiere in these countries, Shudder will be streaming the series in Canada, the UK, and Ireland.
The short synopsis for the new series is as follows, from Shudder: “[The show] follows a wealthy but dysfunctional family gathering for a reunion on a secluded island. Their old wounds and competitive rivalries flare up when the family realizes a masked killer is on the island, intent on cruelly picking them off one by one.”
Shudder is excited to announce they will be keeping up the “Slasher” tradition of bringing back cast members to portray new roles in new seasons, and are elated to share Canadian horror legend David Cronenberg will be joining the cast for “Slasher: Flesh and Blood.” Shudder’s General Manager, Craig Engler, had this to say: “Slasher is clever, bloody, scary and fun, and adding David Cronenberg to the mix will take this new installment of the series to the next level.”
