Several months ago it was revealed that Sony was hard at work on rebooting the classic 1970 Charlie’s Angels franchise once again. This comes after the original reboot occurred 12 years ago with Cameron Diaz, Drew Berrymore and Lucy Lui.
This time around (via Variety) actress Elizabeth Banks has signed onto direct after her directorial debut this year with Pitch Perfect 2. Now the film has hired a screenwriter in The Huntsman: Winters War writer Evan Spiliotopoulos.
Elizabeth Banks will produce the film through her production company Brownstone.
Charlie’s Angels does not have a current release date
