Sony’s Morbius gets pushed to October 2021

Jan 13, 2021

It was is probably the first of many more theatrical delays Variety is reporting Sony’s Morbius film is being pushed to October 2021. The Jared Leto vehicle was originally set to drop on July 31st and has now been moved to the fall thanks to an ever looming pandemic and uncertain fate for theaters.

This maybe the first of many delays as rumors swirl about more films being pushed most notably Black Widow. We can also probably bet this means Sony’s entire 2021 slate will shift slightly so expect more delay info for films like Uncharted, Connected, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. We could also see this effect the upcoming Spider-Man 3 as Morbius appears to have some connection to that film/universe.

Morbius stars Jared Leto and features the story of a young scientist Michael Morbius whom is looking for a cure for a rare blood diesea. In his search to save his life he unlocks a horrifying cure that turns him into a living vampire.
