It looks like Spider-Man director Jon Watts is a big fan of the sitcom Seinfeld as the working title for Homecoming was Summer of George. A reference to the character George Costanza.

Updated information from our production source reveals the working title for the untitled sequel will be Fall of George, which will continue the love affair with the Seinfeld reference.

STATUS: JUNE 2018

LOCATION: ATLANTA

DIRECTOR: JON WATTS

Previously, we confirmed Jon Watts signed on to direct moments before Marvel’s Kevin Feige announced the news. Omega Underground also revealed plans to begin filming Spider-Man 2 next June in Atlanta.

There also seems to be the possibility of the addition of Gwen Stacy as we uncovered a few amateur audition tapes for the part (we still are considering it a rumor). A bit of trivia is that Gwen’s father just happens to be named Geroge.

But it’s most likely just Watts being a big Seinfeld fan.

Sony and Marvel have slatted the film for a release date of July 5th, 2019.
