Sony closed out their E3 Press Conference with one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games.
The Trailer begins with Spider-Man approaching an isolated prison known as The Raft via the side of a helicopter. Spider-Man goes toe-to-toe with several escaped prisoners, reminiscent of the Batman Arkham series. Spider-Man weaves through bad guys and debris fighting his way to Electro before being cut off by another iconic Spider-Man villain, Scorpion. Several other villains from Spidey’s rogue gallery make an appearance such as Vulture, Rhyno, Scorpion and Mr. Negative. I gotta say, the odds don’t look to be in Spidey’s favor, as the trailer cuts off as Spider-Man is surrounded by five of his foes. A sixth villain approaches at the very end and Spider-Man reacts in shock, however Insomniac decided to keep that reveal under wraps. What a way to end the trailer, as Spider-Man is backed into a corner.
For those who cannot wait to get their hands on this game, myself included, you won’t have to wait much longer as the game drops exclusively on Playstation 4 on September 7th, 2018.
