Today, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced during a Disney shareholders meeting that Star Wars: Episode 8 will be released May 26th, 2017! This will come as great news for Star Wars fans who were a bit confused when Episode 7 was announced as coming out December 2015 when every other film in the collection had that Memorial Day weekend opening in May. Episode 8 will be directed by Looper director Rian Johnson as opposed to JJ Abrams who is helming Episode 7 The Force Awakens.
