John Boyega also made a comment on Twitter stating:
“That’s a wrap on Star Wars episode 9 and the end to a chapter of my life that I couldn’t be more thankful for. What a process! It really has been a joy to be in these movies surrounded by amazing people. JJ thank you for making my dreams come true.”
Additionally, Omega Underground and Christopher Marc previously reported that ‘Episode IX’ would be wrapping principal photography in February, all the way back in August last year.
Further, this means a title announcement is imminent. On the principal photography wrap day, both ‘The Force Awakens’ and ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ got their titles. So, the title reveal could even be later today!
Meanwhile, plenty of cast members are returning: Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Joonas Suotamo, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Greg Grunberg, and Billie Lourd.
Also, legacy characters comprise of the long-awaited return of Billy Dee Williams, as well as Anthony Daniels, Jimmy Vee, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher. Meanwhile, the newcomers to the franchise are Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, and Matt Smith.
JJ Abrams co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Terrio (‘Argo,’ ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’).
The still-untitled film will release on December 20.
