Starz Nabs ‘John Wick’ Series ‘The Continental’ – ‘The Wire’s Chris Collins To Showrun

Jan 13, 2018

Yesterday, Starz announced they’ve greenlit the John Wick spinoff series The Continental which will be written and showrun by Chris Collins (The Wire, Sons of Anarchy). They’ll be pairing with Lionsgate TV on the project that will focus on the chain of worldwide hotels that act as a sanctuary for assassins.

There’s been chatter the series would act as a prequel of sorts not to directly impact future films but indeed set within that world. Starz also suggests that Keanu Reeves might appear on the series which would be smart since he’s an executive producer on the show.

It remains to be seen who it will actually focus on but it might not be too difficult to sign-up Ian McShane and Lance Reddick. Collins work on Lance’s HBO series The Wire, so I assume Lance will be the main lead here.

John Wick: Chapter 3 is set for release on May 17th, 2019.
