So far The CW’s newest comic book TV show, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, has dealt with the past. Not for much longer, and it’ll include a familiar guest star.
On episode six of the show’s first season, the “legends” will be headed to the year 2046 to face-off against a future iteration of Vandal Savage. Along the way, they’ll also come across future Oliver Queen, obviously played by Arrow’s Stephen Amell. He’ll look a bit different, however.
He’s going to have his signature goatee and his left arm will be missing. This was confirmed in a statement by executive producer Marc Guggenheim to ComicBook.com and by Amell on his Facebook page.
“Every once in a while, we do an episode where the 10-year old me has to pinch himself. We’re not only introducing our version of Connor Hawke to our universe, we’re going to meet the 2046 version of Oliver Queen, and Stephen Amell is going to be reprising his role from Arrow.
As an added bonus to comic book fan, Oliver is missing his left arm and will be sporting a goatee, in a nod to the character’s appearance in the seminal Dark Knight Returns. We think this episode features some of the coolest things we’ve ever done.”
Amell teased the appearance at the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey last weekend.
“Oh, I’ve got some stuff coming up on Legends,” Amell said during an Arrow panel at the fest.
He called the tone “completely different” in comparison to The Flash and Arrow.
“It’s pretty cool,” John Barrowman, who plays Malcolm Merlyn/Ras Al Guhl, added after Amell finished. “I’ve seen it. It’s really awesome.”
Also to appear in the episode is Connor Hawke, Oliver Queen’s son, as the second Green Arrow.
