The world of Stephen King has been getting a well-deserved boost lately with the announcement of the JJ Abrams produced Castle Rock series for Hulu, the Dark Tower film set for release this year and the new IT feature film set for release this year as well. With that, there is another King property that is making its way to the small screen.
SPIKE TV will air a new series based on the Stephen King novella The Mist. The novella chronicled the lives of the people of the small town of Bridgeton Maine who are trapped after a violent thunderstorm shrouds the town in an unnatural mist that conceals monsters inside. The threats only start to mount as people begin turning on each other when the lack of information, their own fears and dwindling supplies start to infect the group.
Spike’s THE MIST centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world, and in some cases, each other. Family, friends and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.
The series begins Thursday June 22 on SPIKE.
