The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Stranger Things actor Charlie Heaton is in negotiations to play Samuel Guthrie aka Cannonball in Josh Boone’s X-Men: The New Mutants. Production will take place this summer in Boston as first pointed out and confirmed by Omega Underground, which is now backed-up by THR.
He could join confirmed cast members Anya Taylor-Joy (Magik), Maisie Williams (Wolfsbane), along with Rosario Dawson and Henry Zaga (Sunspot) who are also in talks for roles.
We’ve previously pointed out two actresses in the mix to play Mirage.
New Mutants is set for release on April 13th, 2018.
