‘Supergirl’ Gets Renewed For Season 2; Moves to The CW

May 13, 2016

Today, it was announced that CBS’s Supergirl will be renewed for a second season. This should come as a great thing for fans of the show which introduced such DC characters like Martian Manhunter and Maxwell Lord. However interestingly the show will not continue on CBS but has since been moved to The CW. Supergirl will join the ever growing DCTV Universe alongside Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Her first step towards the shared universe happened earlier this year when The Flash (Grant Gustin) appeared in National City to meet Supergirl (Melissa Benosit). Now with this network switch we may see even more crossover’s in the future. Unfortunately, there are rumors that the show will get massive budget cuts and get rid of several key characters from season one. This also solidifies the theory that DCTV version of the ‘Trinity’ will include Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl. Producer Greg Berlanti will return to produce all four shows.
