You’ll probably be hearing that distinctive Addams Family snap sooner than you think! The animated outing ‘The Addams Family’ will be getting a sequel.
Thanks to an impressive debut last week (earning $35 million over a four-day weekend), MGM/UAR have already set a release date for the next installment: October 22, 2021.
‘The Addams Family,’ which we reviewed here, proved to be a welcome piece of family counterprogramming against Joker, while also playing into the Halloween season.
There is no word yet on whether the cast (which includes Charlize Theron, Oscar Isaac, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Finn Wolfhard as the titular family, and Snoop Dogg as Cousin It) or directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan will return, but given the success of the previous film, it seems very likely.
This is the only film on the October 22, 2021 release date.
