It was recently reported that director Antoine Fuqua had exited Universal’s latest Scarface remake to instead to focus on directing recent Oscar nominee Denzel Washington in Sony’s sequel to The Equalizer.
After Sony’s recent losses in 2016, the studio has made the sequel a top priority.
Omega Underground has spotted the potential production start date for The Equalizer 2 which is said to begin filming on September 5th.
Although, location details aren’t being revealed it’s possible that production could return to Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts area for the sequel.
A release date for The Equalizer 2 has been slated by Sony for September 14th, 2018.
