‘The Flash Movie’: Kiersey Clemons Will Be Sticking Around As Iris West

Nov 4, 2016

The Flash Movie lost its second director in Rick Famuyiwa recently, after he departed Warner Bros superhero movie due to “creative differences”.

Famuyiwa’s sudden departure from The Flash left many questions up in the air. One being would his former colleague Kiersey Clemons who Famuyiwa brought on-board as Iris West. A tough-as-nails journalist and friend of Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), the Flash’s alter ego jump ship too?

Clemons worked with Famuyiwa on Dope, recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the directors departure.

“Rick was one of the main reasons I wanted to do the movie. So him not being a part of it is obviously very upsetting to me.”

She also put minds to rest by confirming with the outlet that she’ll be sticking around as Iris West despite Famuyiwa’s exit from The Flash.

“All I can do is give it up to the gods. Let’s see what happens. Let’s see who’s going to jump in. Ezra and I are going to do what we promised to do from the beginning. No matter who the director is, I am going to do what I think Iris should be.”

No wthat out the way, the next question is who will Warner Bros bring in to steady the ship? If it’s not soon, I’d expect the film to be delayed until late 2018 possibly 2019. No names have been tossed around yet, but whoever does step in needs to have a little panache about them.

We will see Clemons debut as Iris West next year in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
