In The Forge, the hardware section of The GWW, we have our first drone in-house and under review. Here is the out-of-the-box session on the Ei-Hi S20C Mirage Drone. This is a starter drone and does not have a ton of capability. We’ll be putting it through its paces to see just how far that $59.99 gets you.
This session was filmed on short notice, jammed in-between other events, so it is off-script and unplanned. I’ve cut a large amount of video out of the “first flight” section. Believe me, it was not that quick or easy. The four rotors on the S20C yield a lot more power than the single or dual-prop indoor RC Copters that I am accustomed to flying.
One thing that I forgot to mention that is included with the S20C is a 4GB microSD card and a USB microSD Card Reader, two really neat add-ins for such a low-price product. While I have plenty of microSD cards, the little half-size USB key reader will have a lot more utility than just using it with the drone.
Be on the lookout for more commentary when we post the full-length review. Until then, enjoy this out of the box early look. Peace!!!
