Today, The Wrap has revealed that The Mummy & Ben-Hur star Marwan Kenzari has entered talks to play Jafar in Guy Richies upcoming Aladdin remake. If a deal is struck the actor will join Naomi Scott as Jasmine and newcomer Mena Massoud as the street rat Aladdin. Will Smith is expected to provide the voice of The Genie made famous by the late Robin Williams.
Again, Guy Richie is expected to direct by a script from John August. Longtime Richie producer Dan Lin will also produce this upcoming live-action adventure for Disney.
