Today, it was announced on Deadline that The Wolverine and 3:10 to Yuma director James Mangold has signed onto helm a Captain Nemo film. This will be done after Mangold is done directing The Wolverine sequel which is prepped to shoot in the coming months. This movie will be written by Sebastian Gutierrez but instead of based on Jules Verne classic novel this will be an original origin film. Ironically, X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer is set to direct a separate Captain Nemo 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea film after this next X-Men films which debuts in May.
