Three More Returning Actors Confirmed for The Defenders

Nov 2, 2016

When we last saw Clair Temple, she was about to start taking some long overdue self-defense classes. These courses are going to be led by one half of the Daughters of the Dragon: Colleen Wing, played by Jessica Henwick in the upcoming Iron Fist series for Netflix.

The other half of the duo, Simone Missick’s Misty Knight, has already started filming scenes for the upcoming series.

Clair has been a staple of all the previous Marvel Netflix series and her presence in the Defenders was a foregone conclusion, but it has been confirmed by the @TheDefenders Twitter feed that Clair Temple, played by Rosario Dawson, will return for the limited series currently filming.

In addition to Clair Temple’s return, Trish Walker/Hellcat, played by Rachael Taylor, is confirmed to be in the cast as well. When we last saw Trish, she was being saved by Jessica Jones from Killgrave and we last heard her as she was doing her radio show and spreading the news about Luke Cage.

If anyone watched the teaser announcement for The Defenders, you were able to make out the unmistakable voice of Matt Murdock’s mentor Stick, played by Scott Glenn, warning our fledgling heroes that they can barely take care of themselves, let alone save the world. Stick will be returning for the series and one wonders what his motives are and who he really serves.

So there you have it. With all of these recurring cast members from the Marvel Television Universe finding their way into the Defenders, it makes me excited to see how the movie side incorporates all of their big guns in the next two Avengers movies and will the Defenders actually play a role in the future.
