Timothy Olyphant will wear Boba Fett’s armour in some scenes in the second season of ‘The Mandalorian,’ /Film has revealed. Olyphant’s casting was previously announced, though it’s still uncertain who he will be playing. Though he will wear Boba’s armour, Olyphant will not be playing Boba Fett, as previously it was announced that Temuera Morrison will be returning to the Star Wars franchise to fill this role – Temuera previously played Jango Fett in ‘Star Wars: Attack of the Clones’ (2002). /Film have theorised that Olyphant may instead be playing Cobb Vanth, a sheriff from Tatooine who, in the book series ‘Aftermath’ by Chuck Wendig, purchases a set of Mandalorian armour from some Jawas. /Film explains that episode ‘The Gunslinger’ from the first season of ‘The Mandalorian’ shows a brief scene of a mysterious figure who appears to be wearing garb close to that of Boba Fett’s – it’s possible this was not a tease of Fett but of Vanth sometime after he had purchased the Mandalorian armour.
‘The Mandalorian’ is a television show set in the Star Wars universe following the events of the original trilogy. It stars Pedro Pascal in the titular role, and follows a Mandalorian bounty hunter in his adventures across the galaxy. It released on Disney+ in 2019, and the second season is expected in October 2020.
