To The Point – Issue #5

Aug 20, 2012

For those of us that hate reading fluff, here are the highlights of what’s going on in the industry.

  • The big news of the week: Gamescom is over and the interwebs are abuzz about Sony. Sony finally gave Vita some love and showed some very cool titles such as Tearaway, LittleBigPLanet, Killzone, Call of Duty, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper.
  • What is Cross Buy? It appears to be a game changer for Sony. When a consumer purchases select titles on PSN/PS3 retail, they will receive the Vita copy at no charge. Let your mind wander…
  • OnLive is dead. Ok, not quite, but the signs are there. The company recently sold to an unknown third party and staff have been let go.
  • Best Buy hired a new CEO in an attempt to save it’s declining business. I have a suggestion. Stop training your people to be douche bags. If you treat your customers like idiots, then only idiots will shop at your stores. And guess what! Idiots don’t have a lot of money to spend on your overpriced, terrible selection of products. There you go Best Buy, a few tips to keep your business afloat.

I’m out.
