Warner Bros. is investing in another adventure, as a sequel to last year’s ‘Tomb Raider’ is in the works. Also, Alicia Vikander (‘Ex Machina,’ ‘The Danish Girl’) will return in the starring role of Lara Croft, the tomb raider herself.
Further, Amy Jump will write the screenplay for the film, who was handpicked by Vikander. Jump is a frequent collaborator with writer-director Ben Wheatley, with a total of five films. They comprise of ‘Kill List,’ ‘Sightseers,’ ‘A Field in England,’ ‘High-Rise,’ and ‘Free Fire.’ Next up for Jump is another film for Wheatley to direct, ‘Freak Shift,’ which they wrote together.
Meanwhile, the screenplay of the first film was from Geneva Robertson-Dworet (‘Captain Marvel’) and Alastair Siddons (‘Trespass Against Us’). It is unknown if director Roar Uthaug will come back.
There is no release date set for the film as of now.
