In the first teaser trailer for Cars 3, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) suffered a wreck on the racing track that looked like it could either be fatal or career ending. This new trailer is a little more light-hearted, resembling a 90s’ commercial for Infinity cars rather than animated film. However, it does give the first looks at Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer), McQueen’s new rival, and Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonz), a long-time fan of McQueen who has become a race technician. It’s possible that it will be broken up into bumpers rather than shown as a full trailer.
“Cars 3” opens in US theatres on June 16, 2017. The associated line of toys are expected well before that.
